First trip to Cracker Barrel!

Teagan's first wedding!

We went to Virginia this weekend (as you can tell by the first post) and Teagan attended her very first wedding! She did great! She slept through the wedding then woke up a little afterwards for some picture taking and then she woke up again during the reception for some more pictures! She was such a good girl! Everybody just "ooo-ed and ahhhh-ed" over her! She is amazing! We were so excited to see our friends from Virginia! We hope to see them more often! Her friend, Lily, will be 2 years old soon!! Time is flying by so quickly!

Overall, we had an amazing trip! It was great to visit with friends and Teagan was great. Also, there was a Starbucks right next to the hotel...which I took advantage of at least twice a day! Haha! We can't wait to go back and visit. Next time Josh will be with us! We missed him so much! It was great to get home to him Sunday evening!

Road trip!!

Teagan did amazing! She went on her first road trip this weekend and I swear she is the most amazing baby ever! She was great in the car and only got fussy if she got hungry.

or sleeping. We got her out when we crossed the Virginia line because I wanted to get her picture next to the Virginia sign! We attempted to put her sun hat on but it's still gigantic on her little head and her nose still isn't quite big enough for her sunglasses but we tried anyway!









Then we went sliding and then got back in the car and headed down the road!! We go to the hotel around 8:30-9ish and Teagan ate and went to bed! Even as much as she slept in the car on the road she slept like a champ last night!

Whitewater Center

We went to the Whitewater Center on April 2nd. Josh and I both had the day off and so we decided to take Teagan for a walk! It was great! She stayed awake for a good bit of the walk. The breeze off of the water felt wonderful and the sunshine was gorgeous! The only thing we'll do different next time is take the jogging stroller instead of the regular stroller. I had forgotten 3/4 of the trail around the water was GRAVEL and so the wheels on the regular stroller took quite a beating! We still had a great time though! We can't wait to go back!

Little update!

I haven't been as on top of the blog as I'd like to be since I've had to go back to work. I don't get to spend as much time with Teagan as I did and so I don't get to catch all the beyond adorable stuff she does now! Also, by the time I get home with her it's time to take a bath, eat dinner, feed her and then put her to bed so there isn't much downtime to blog. I will try to do better.
Our little girl will be 11 weeks old on Saturday! Time is continuing to fly by too quickly.

I love the mornings with Teagan. It's our special time because we wake up about 45 minutes before Josh does. She's been doing amazing. The last two nights she has slept 9 hours straight and she is my alarm clock because she gets me up around 5:30-6:30. I love going in there and getting her up because she is all smiles when I come in there to get her (even though she smiles a little bit bigger when her daddy peeks over my shoulder =-) ). This morning was especially funny. She got up around 5 this morning and was hungry. After I fed her I took advantage of the time and got her clothes out of the dryer while she played on her floor (the laundry "room/closet" is like 5 steps from her room so I can see her). I came back in her room and folded and put away her clothes while she was playing. Her grandparents (Josh's parents) got her a stuffed gorilla for Easter and so I put it by her head. She thought it was hilarious and started talking to her new friend! Then I put a book (from Auntie Livia) on her other side and she would go from talking to the gorilla to "reading" the book. It was so cute! I managed to get some pictures!

Easter Sunday

Let me just brag on our baby girl...she was AMAZING the whole weekend!! We stayed with Josh's parents on Saturday night because we didn't want to have to get up at 3 or 4 to be at their church for Sunrise Sunday morning. She slept in her pack-n-play at the foot of our bed and slept wonderfully. (She officially knows when bedtime is now. When it hits 8 o'clock she starts getting sleepy because she knows it's time to start the bedtime routine.) Anyway, back to Easter weekend. Getting up for sunrise was not a big deal for us because Teagan is usually up by 6 during the week. We bundled her up in some fleece pants, a onsie, her bunny shoes and a hat and wrapperd her up in a blanket (after we got her out of the carseat...the blanket was on her in the car but she wasn't wrapped in it.) We walked to the cross and had an amazing service and she slept the whole time. I think she was lulled to sleep by the congregation singing Easter praises. After the service we all went to breakfast and she woke up a little bit to talk to all the people that passed by. After service we went back to the Reid's and she ate and slept and then we got ready for regular church service. She was a trooper! She was awake and alert and listening to the choir and Pastor John for at least 25 minutes and then she dozed off and slept the rest of the service. There were a lot of babies that were crying and wouldn't settle down and had to be taken out. We were so proud of our little girl! She was so well-behaved! After church we ate with the Reid's and then went to my parents house for our annual Easter egg hunt. It was too hot for Teagan to be out running around so she stayed inside with her Papaw. I cannot wait until next year when she is running around hunting Easter eggs!! Of course my camera battery died and so I am going to have to steal some pictures from my mom. I was so mad! But all in all we had an amazing Easter weekend!




Matthew 28:1-10
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

Thankful Friday

I've decided to turn over a new leaf. Here lately I've been focusing on all the things I can't do, we can't do or we don't have. I'm going to start focusing on what I do have.
Going back to work has been really hard on me but I'm deciding to look at it from a different perspective. I got 2 more weeks with Teagan then I would have because of the c-section. My mom is able and willing to keep her until she reaches 3 months which means I can still nurse her during the day at lunch. She will be going to a 5 star daycare that is right down the road from me. She will be learning social skills and be in a Christian-based environment.
I've been wanting our house done. I want the walls painted, I want different furniture, I want this and I want that. Lately, I've wanted it all done and done now. I'm looking at it now as we're taking our time and when we finally do get everything done it will be exactly the way we want it and with quality materials not just any old stuff. Josh has expanded the closet in the kitchen for a ton of more storage (I love my handyman husband!) and is starting the process of putting in a built-in bookshelf in the guest room. We are currently waiting to hear from an interior decorater friend of ours to figure out how we can refigure the living room because it's awkwardly long with a lot of windows and only two decent sized "wall spaces". My husband and his dad built our TV stand, our dining room table, our bed, our night stands, Teagan's crib and Teagan's dresser/changing table. We've got a list of "to-dos" and we're tackling them one by one. I know they will get done and I will eventually love my house I just need to have patience.

I have to remind myself everyday that I am truly blessed. I need to stop focusing on what I don't have and focus on what I do have. I have an amazing husband, a beautiful and amazing baby girl, a wonderful family and great friends. I also have a house, a job, a car and can buy groceries. I work with people everyday who can't say they have half of those things.


So, from here on out I will be thankful.
