The biggest pizza and a teeny baby.

Recently we went to visit our friends, Paul and Melissa and their sweet baby Aliza!  We bought them dinner and little did I know...my husband had me order THE BIGGEST pizza I'd ever seen in my life.  This pizza should be on one of the Food Network shows about super huge food and what not.  Just look how big this pizza is...

And of course! Baby Aliza! She is precious and she slept on me the entire time! Neither one of my girls was this tiny outside of my belly!  She was so precious!!  I'm all about snuggling up with a baby!  Just look at that poochie lip!! OMGoodness!!!

Feature of a Favorite Friday.

I had this post planned for 3 weeks ago.  But the hurricane called life smacked us with a category 4 1/2 and posting hasn't happened a lot.  For that I apologize.  We are all well.  No worries, y'all.

Anyway, I am proud to introduce you to the company, to the sisters, to my friends whose button you've seen to the right of my blog content for a while.  These girls and I met via a contest I won and then Amanda & I clicked and even became "real life" friends a little while later.  Her sister Jayme is equally as sweet as Amanda and I hope we will all three be able to get together soon, with our little girls in tow!

Be sure to go check out their blog and their Etsy shop.  All three of us Reid ladies have clothes from their amazing online vintage store!!

Without further ado...I will let them tell you a little about themselves.

Miskabelle was founded in May 2009,although it was a brainchild of ours years and years ago before we had the gumption to actually do it. Fashion has always interested us (we played with Barbies until almost our teens!) and our close friendship as sisters made it easy to become business partners.
Drawing on our creative strengths in art, writing, design, and style, we put together our own vintage fashion shop on Etsy (which has now spread into a fashion blog and more!).  Jayme lives in Pennsylvania and Amanda in Virginia—which is great for finding a wide range of merchandise for the shops, but it also can be a challenge (and we miss each other!).
The shop name, Miskabelle, comes from our last name (Miska) and "belle" which means"beautiful" in French--a language we both studied and loved.
We have worked really hard to perfect the Miskabelle shop—evolving/improving how we photograph the items and searching for only the most unique and noteworthy pieces to add to our inventory, and in turn we've seen our sales and number of blog readers really grow over these past three years.  The whole thing has been a dream come true--doing what you love with someone you love never feels like work.

Our charge as parents.

I've talked before about how Josh and I are believers in Christ.  We are professing Christians and we do not in any way shy away from it.  Honestly, I should proclaim it much more then I do, something I plan on doing more in 2012.  Not in the screaming "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL IF" kinda way but in the if you ask, I will most certainly tell.
Anyway, we've been looking at easy ways to introduce Jesus, God and the Bible more and more to Teagan and Kyra.  Teagan is at the age where she is a sponge.  The kind that sops up water quicker then you can pour it.  I came across a blog on Pinterest that had some easy to learn Bible verses for toddlers. I think this is going to be something we start with Teagan.  Kyra isn't, obviously, quite old enough for it but I feel like she'll catch on pretty quickly when the time comes.
The game plan is going to be starting out learning one a month.  If Teagan starts catching on quicker, which I think she might, then we will learn more then that.  We will stay at a slow pace and not shove it down her throat.  We're going to make it fun and not make it a burden for her.  It will also help keep Josh and I accountable in our walk.  Just to make it even more fun for her we might enlist the help/participation of her two best pals Matilda and Miles David...Jeana? Tara?

The first one we plan on teaching Teagan is Gen 16:13 "You are a God who sees".  If you'd also like to join in with us let us know! The more kiddos learning scripture the better!

Bringing in the New Year with amazing friends.

Our New Years Eve and Day were spent just the way we wanted.  With family and friends who are considered family.
We had a sleepover with The Heavner's to ring in the New Year in.  Our attire consisted of PJs.  Our spread was wings, salsa and fried pickles.  The babies crawled around the house playing together and chasing Addie Bear, who was amazing in spite of having two squealing babies to tend with.  We even let the babies stay up until 9!
After we put the babies to sleep, same room. different bed.  We put in Horton Hears a Who with every intention of watching it.  Josh was the only one who stayed awake and thankfully was able to wake us up with a few minutes to spare before the ball dropped.  We shared sleepy kisses with our amazing significant others and headed to bed.
We are such parents now...but boy do we love it that way!
